The novel COVID-19, coronavirus, has quickly made its way around the world. As of March 27th, the United States has the most reported cases of COVID-19. This growing spread of COVID-19 makes finding solutions even more important.

At Colorado Tri-Flo Systems, we’ve introduced our VIRUS 100 and VIRUS 100-I industrial electric heaters as a powerful way to help protect first responders, doctors and nurses, grocery stores, and other emergency personnel from COVID-19. Learn more about ways you can keep safe from the coronavirus and how our VIRUS 100 heating solutions are an important tool to help keep you, your employees, your business, or your families safe.

Stay Safe from COVID-19

Our team at Colorado Tri-Flo Systems is working hard to provide a safe and effective solution for destroying COVID-19 using heat. But it’s also important to know other ways to keep yourself and those around you safe and healthy.

While some of these ways might just be reiterating the information you’ve been told from other sources, it’s important to keep reminding yourself of those tactics to continue keeping you and your communities safe.

We also want to show appreciation for the workers still out there — whether they work in a hospital, as a first responder, or for an essential business — who are putting themselves on the line to keep our communities and countries safe, protected, and functioning.

Wash Your Hands

No matter where you live, you’ve probably heard from countless employers, and local and national government officials to wash your hands. Washing your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds after running errands outside or in public places can effectively kill any germs on your hands, including the coronavirus. This also limits the contamination of surfaces by keeping your hands from spreading the virus when you’re out in public.

If you don’t have access to soap and water, carry hand sanitizer with you for an immediate solution.

Social Distancing

This idea of social distancing, along with emerging stay-at-home orders, has become an increasingly common way to combat the coronavirus in the United States and around the world. The mindset around this comes from the idea of flattening the curve, or spreading the amount of cases overwhelming the medical system over a longer period of time so those resources are not stretched as thin.

This also means that you want to limit social contact. If you have friends or family you need to visit or take care of, make sure you’re limiting your contact to prevent getting or spreading COVID-19 to the people in your circle.

Don’t Touch Your Face

This is another important way to keep yourself safe from the coronavirus. Touching things with your hands and then touching your face is an easy way to infect yourself after touching a surface where COVID-19 is living. If you avoid touching your face while also washing your hands, you increase your chances of staying healthy and decrease the chances of spreading the virus.

Essential Shopping Only

While it’s important to run the essential errands you need to — like going to a job that’s considered essential, buying groceries, picking up medicine, or visiting someone you take care of — avoid other types of shopping. Many governments, both in the United States and around the world, are closing down non-essential businesses to help remove that temptation. But if you still have businesses open in your area, consider avoiding those places for now.

Know the Signs and Symptoms

Do you know what signs and symptoms to watch out for? According to the World Health Organization, the most common symptoms of the coronavirus are:

  • Tiredness
  • Fever
  • Dry cough
  • Aches and pains
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose and nasal congestion

More extreme symptoms can include serious illness, difficulty breathing, high blood pressure, heart problems, and more. If you start to experience those symptoms, you want to reach out to your local hospital for the next steps and information on getting tested.

Properly Sanitize Spaces

Whether you work in the medical or emergency response communities, or are unable to social distance, it’s important to ensure that the surfaces and spaces you’re around are sanitized. Whether that means having your employees use masks and gloves or constantly using different sanitizers or cleaners, make sure you’re constantly cleaning, especially if you have infected people in those spaces.

Are you looking for a heater that destroys the coronavirus, or COVID-19? Our VIRUS 100 — also available in an international model — heats to a temperature powerful enough to kill COVID-19 on surfaces and in the air. The lethal temperature for the virus is 135° Fahrenheit / 57° Celsius for 30 minutes. Our industrial electric heater can raise the temperature in a room to ~140° Fahrenheit / 60° Celsius to sanitize it from COVID-19, along with other hazardous germs and viruses. One of our heaters can be used in a room that is 320 square feet / 2560 cubic feet (30 square meters / 75 cubic meters).

If you have larger spaces that you need sanitized or heated, just contact our Tri-Flo team for a customized heating solution.

Additionally the VIRUS 100 solutions can be used to facilitate reusing PPE equipment such as masks and gowns. Just place this equipment in a room with the temperature over 135°F / 57°C and in 30 minutes your equipment is ready for reuse.
